Ever since Tim Thibodeau was hired in Minnesota as Head Coach and Team President it seems he’s only had one thing on his mind and that’s getting as many of his former Bulls players and coaches up north as possible. Since assuming his role in the 2016 offseason, Thibodeau has added three assistant coaches (Andy Greer, Ed Pinckney and Rick Brunson) and countless players, including all star SG Jimmy Butler and former MVP Derrick Rose, but he’s not done yet. The Timberwolves recently inked Luol Deng to a one year deal for the veteran’s minimum ($2.4 million).
Free agent Luol Deng has reached agreement on a one-year, $2.4M deal with Minnesota, pending physical, per league sources.

It has also been rumored that if the Knicks buy out Joakim Noah’s contract that Thibs will snatch him up as well. I’m not sure if he has a time machine stashed away and is going to unleash it once he has all his pieces in place or if he likes to surround himself with familiar faces for comfort but we know that Thibs is literally ad figuratively trying to recreate the success he had in Chicago when they were contenders in the Eastern Conference.
