Jemele Hill and ESPN have seemingly had a rocky relationship from the outside looking in since she made some critical comments about Donald Trump last year. Her unwillingness to stop speaking out against the President led to a suspension from the network and even for some people to call for her job. But Hill has never spoken ill of her former employer and today she bid them farewell in an endearing statement posted on her Instagram account.
Jemele has been a staple on ESPN for the past 12 years and has been one of the most energetic, personable and humorous personalities across the network. She along with Michael Smith spoke to a demographic that would have simply been unreachable without them. They eventually cohosted SportsCenter at the 6:00pm slot which is pretty much the most watched segment on ESPN. Her work on The Undefeated, His & Hers (Formerly Numbers Never Lie) and her several appearances on Around The Horn definitely livened up the ESPN experience as well.
We wish Jemele much success in her future endeavors and she will sorely be missed on the Worldwide Leader. Thanks Jemele!!! Flip the page to see the message she posted this morning.
