We always think about what could have been. Life can change in the blink of an eye. There are many things that have happened in basketball that could have changed the course of history as we know it. Let’s dwell on these moments like the ex you let get away because you weren’t in the right place to be in a relationship lol.
What if the Blazers didn’t draft Sam Bowie? What if the ABA never folded? What if Larry Bird had a back for his whole career? What if Kareem never got hurt and Magic never played center? What if Wilt never scored 100? What if Willis Reed never limped back on to the court in the Finals? What if Christian Laettner missed? What if Chris Webber never called that timeout? What if Havlicek didn’t steal the ball? What if Pistol Pete played with a 3 pt line? What if Len Bias never died? What if the Celtics drafted Kobe? What if they drafted Tim Duncan? What if Reggie Lewis never died? (Damn, the Celtics are cursed.) What if Hank Gathers never died? What if Scottie Pippen stayed in Seattle? What if Mike decided not to play on the Dream Team? What if Mike never played baseball? What if A.I. didn’t go to Georgetown? What if Reggie Miller didn’t score 8 points in 8.9 seconds? What if they never called that foul on Scottie Pippen (you shouldn’t have to ask which foul)? What if John Starks didn’t go 2-18 in Game 7? What if they called a push off on MJ? What if Shaun Livingston never tore his knee up? What if Jay Williams never got on that motorcycle? What if LeBron went to college? What if he never went to Miami? What if Ray Allen missed that shot? What if Game 6 didn’t happen (you know which Game 6 I’m talking about)? What if Wiggins never got traded? What if people could still hand check? What if they still called traveling? What if Kyrie never got hurt in the 2015 playoffs (or Kevin Love, or Pat Beverley, or Mike Conley, or Tony Allen)? And last but not least, what if the Warriors didn’t blow a 3-1 lead lmaoooooooooooo.
What are some of your “What If’s”?
