The Phoenix Suns will likely begin training camp without all star SG Devin Booker. He will have surgery on his right hand which he injured towards the end of last season. Booker was pretty much the lone bright spot in a dismal season for the Suns last year. The injury doesn’t seem to be incredibly severe but it has been lingering and the organization wanted to get the surgery out of the way to lessen the chance of Booker missing any time during the regular season.
Booker, who signed a five year, $158 million contract extension in July, has steadily improved each season and the Suns are looking to reverse their recent misfortunes having drafted DeAndre Ayton and are actively trying to trade for a top tier PG. Booker has definitely become one of the most electrifying players in the league, even having a 70 pt explosion against the Celtics becoming the youngest player to eclipse that mark, and the Suns are hoping to get some talent next to him so they can be competitive again in the Western Conference.
