2. Mars Blackmon – Nike/Jordan
This campaign is basically what kicked off the Nike takeover. Spike Lee appeared as his character, Mars Blackmon, from “She’s Gotta Have It” and he was able to bring life to the ad despite MJ’s horrible acting.
1. Nike Freestyle – Nike
This is the GOAT commercial. Nike, being the geniuses they are, released this ad at a time when Streetball had a meteoric rise (thanks to the And 1 mixtapes) and also dropped it during All Star Weekend when all eyes were on the NBA. Brilliant.
